    SUMMARY:

    The NA distribution sales manager will be responsible for identifying and developing the business strategy with and for distribution partners and channels, to achieve profitable and timely revenue, margins and operating expenses for the company. This position will interface with Sales Managers, Inside Sales, Customer Service, Product Management, Marcom, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Finance and Senior Management; and responsible for the external interface with Pulse Authorized Distributors, Pulse Mfg. Representatives, Design Engineers, Component Engineering and Purchasing Management.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree or MBA is preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE: Requires 5 or more years of experience in distribution and business management, to include direct sales and/or sales management experience in technical oriented business. 

     

    KNOWLEDGE: General Networking applications knowledge is a must. Able to understand market trends  and identify emerging applications and growth opportunities. Strong background in successful technical sales and technical sales management to major industry leaders. 

    SKILLS: Strong interpersonal skills to lead and direct managers and able to resolve conflicts. Strong contract negotiation skills, experience using CRM programs, Salesforce management highly desirable.


    INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

    Internal: BU Managers, Sales, Customer Service, Program Managers, Engineering and other departments, as applicable.

    External: End Customers, Distribution, and Sales Representatives.

    CHALLENGES:

    Setting and managing priorities to meet Annual Plan goals. Identifying new business opportunities, selecting and concentrating on those opportunities which provide the best potential and meet the overall BU goals and capabilities. Maintaining up-to-date market knowledge regarding industry trends, competition, etc.


    SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:

    • Develop and execute sales and marketing plans to grow the business and strengthen relationships with each key distributor.
    • Provide leadership to sales team in the achievement of sales goals and implementation of sales strategies.
    • Conduct quarterly sales reviews (at a minimum) with each person on the distribution sales team.
    • Identify, evaluate, and qualify, existing and new distributors both domestic and internationally.
    • Understand distributors needs and how to create incentives.
    • Ensure distributor retention and satisfaction.
    • Research and identify potential new distributors to strengthen product sales in areas where company market share is week.
    • Track and analyze sales performance of new and existing distributors and recommend modifications as necessary.
    • Co-ordinate and conduct product / sales meetings and training for distributors to ensure the possession of in-depth knowledge of product attributes, promotional activities and pricing.
    • Recommend and attend trade shows that are best fit for the Company.
    • Assist in direct advertising including providing content to marketing Department for literature, training materials, etc.
    • Gather and communicate distributor needs and trends through regular reports to Management.
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of all Pulse products, applications and services.
    • Work with Pulse and distributor’s engineering/sales departments to secure the design-in of Pulse products.
    • Other activities as directed.

    [fa icon="plus"] Field Application Engineer

    Department: Network Marketing

    Location: San Jose, CA

    SUMMARY

    Establish relationships with key design engineers and marketing managers at IC suppliers and OEM companies in the Bay Area. Identify and work with the technical decision makers in the early development stages of projects, ensure that Pulse has a part developed, and drive box design-in or IC reference board placement. Work closely with the San Diego Engineering team, the rest of the CTM team, and CS to support customer requirements.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

    EDUCATION:          BSEE, Business Administration or equivalent required.  MBA Preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:        4-7 years overall work experience required, of which 1-2 years electronic design experience and 1-2 years OEM sales experience of electronic components is preferred.  3-4 years exposure in the Datacom, Telecom, Industrial and Automotive markets is highly valued.

    KNOWLEDGE:        Technical knowledge of active circuit design and application of signal conditioning magnetics as appropriate to Network Access product line.  Working knowledge in preparation of economic justification proposals and plans. Must be conversant in electronic circuit design and magnetics tuning for system level performance compliance. 

    SKILLS:                  Working knowledge of MS Office Products including PowerPoint and Word. Experience with SalesForce.com valued. 


    INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

    INTERNAL:              Daily interaction with Account Managers to coordinate penetration activities.  Daily interaction with departmental Design Engineers to specify product requirements and coordinate product development.  Weekly interaction with Product Marketing, Program Management, and Design Engineering leadership to prioritize and coordinate product development needs.

    EXTERNAL:            Daily and regular interaction with customers, silicon manufacturers, designers and Management.

    • Analyze industry and market technical requirements to define future product development needs.

    Power Business Unit

    SUMMARY

    The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) provides technical expertise to a variety of customers that integrate Pulse products with a Power Integrated Circuit (IC) and related components for power conversion application designs.  Duties will include providing support for all phases of product development from initial customer contact through to production status for any Power products on an as-needed basis.  Must be familiar with AC/DC and DC/DC converter topologies and how Pulse’s Power products are used in them.  Assignments include interpretations of designs, applications, and service information as well as generating specifications for new design opportunities.  The FAE must be able to work with various Pulse support groups (Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, and Process) as well as Pulse’s Sales Reps and Distributors to support customer requirements.  The FAE must be able to establish relationships with key decision makers at Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Original Design Manufacturer (ODM), Contract Equipment Manufacturer (CEM), and Integrated Chip (IC) manufacturers. The FAE will gather and disseminate information concerning the capabilities of a competitor’s products. The FAE represents customer interests at internal technical meetings and will conduct technical training and presentations internally and externally.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION:          

    BSEE required.

    EXPERIENCE:        

    2-8 years overall work experience required with 2 years FAE experience or as Design Engineer

    KNOWLEDGE:        

    Experienced with various DC/DC and AC/DC converter topologies and in specifying power magnetics that work optimally in the in the intended application. 

    SKILLS:                    

    Working knowledge of MS Office Products including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Sales Force.


    INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

    INTERNAL:  

    Daily interaction with Marketing to coordinate magnetic design opportunities and product development. Will have daily interaction with divisional Design Engineers to aid in specifying product requirements for new designs and provide technical support of current products.  Weekly interaction with Power Division cross functional team to prioritize and schedule product development needs.

    EXTERNAL: 

    Daily interaction with OEM/ODM and smaller customers to provide technical support and Integrated Circuit manufacturers to define magnetics in support of their reference and custom designs.

    SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES

    • Customer visits to third-party (silicon) manufacturers and OEM/ODM customers.
    • Analyze industry and market technical requirements to define future product development needs.
    • Work with Product Management and Marketing to define datasheets, update New Product Presentations, and develop other marketing collateral material.
    • Aid in development of business plans and justification of department and company resources.
    • Provide system level support to Design Engineers.
    • Oversee, prioritize, and manage internal issues to ensure customer satisfaction in production development.
    • Other duties as assigned.
